BT, Tesco, Marks & Spencer, BP and Henderson Global Investors were among the big winners in the prestigious 2011 ifs ProShare Annual Award Ceremony. Nearly 500 leading members of the employee share ownership industry packed into the Grand Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden to celebrate excellence in the industry. Other winners at the awards hosted by comedian Fred MacAulay, included flybe Group, Moneysupermarket.com and Cable & Wireless Worldwide.
Henderson won two awards, ‘Most effective communication’ and ‘Best overall performance in fostering employee share ownership’ for medium sized companies, and for the third year running, Tesco won the ‘Best performance in fostering employee share ownership’ for large companies.
Cable & Wireless Worldwide also received a £10,000 donation from ShareGift for their chosen charity. The award from ShareGift, the share donation charity, was in recognition of Cable and Wireless Worldwide winning the ‘Best employee share plan following a major corporate change’ prize; the judges being particularly impressed with the 98 per cent employee take up of the scheme.
